I was on my way back from the mosque, after attending the Fajr Prayer jemaah. Usually, if I go, I would buy breakfast for the people at home. The mamak restaurant that I usually go is Seri Badar, near to my previous home, in USJ 14. However, this time, I felt like buying breakfast somewhere near Taipan, USJ. So I stopped at Makbul. I sat down, ordered 3 pieces of ‘roti canai’ for take-away, and ordered a drink, to have there. Then, I saw a familiar looking guy walking in. Is it him? It was Sham Kamikaze, the famous composer and musician. He started to change his image a few months ago, to become more religious. Alhamdulillah, a good change. When I saw him, I asked myself, why not go and say hi, since I have so many questions wondering in my mind about his changes. I took my drink and take-away(it was ready) and brought it along with me and approached him and sat in front of him, on the same table. He was very nice and welcoming, by the look on his face.
We started chit chatting and he seemed very friendly. We actually prayed at the same mosque. But I left early after the prayer, so we didn’t bump into each other. We talked about many topics, but more to religious topics. He told me about how he changed and a little bit of the story of his life before all the changes. It was interesting and he made me thinking more about life. It seemed like he has changed a lot. Not only the dressing but the knowledge that he has. Very impressive. We became friends and it got more interesting when we knew that we share the same views and understandings. In that short moment of time, we managed to share knowledge with each other, and I could see how passionate he is in learning and how humble he is with his knowledge about Islam. I adore and respect him for what he is doing.
Alhamdulillah, Brother Sham is not the Sham we knew back then, with his earrings, necklace and bangle. No more wasting time. He is a different man now. He is more matured, and may Allah always bless, guide and protect him in his journey to be a better Muslim, inshaAllah.
