My email to Yusuf Estes

Below is an email that I sent to Yusuf Estes. He replied so quickly. I was very suprised to receive his reply so early. A busyman like him would have so many other things to do, but despite all of that, he still had the time to entertain my question. May Allah always bless him and his dakwah.
Here's the email which I copy paste from my email and below it is the screen shot of my email.
I hope it will benefit everyone who reads it...I did some editing in the text because of my typing error and a grammar mistake. The errors are

at the subject, i spelled Chritianity and I corrected it to Christianity.

and at the third line, I wrote believe in, then, I corrected it to believing in.

Subject: Why do some Muslims convert to Christianity?

Assalamu 'alaikum Uncle Yusuf. Wish u all the best in your dakwah..

I have a question about Muslims converting to Christianity. I still don't get it. How did they fall in the trap? How did they change from worshipping 1 God to believing in trinity. How did that happen?

What made them change and what are the flaws that they see in Islam?

The Muslim converts are increasing, thanks to people like you with your powerful dakwah, but in the same time, there are people converting from Islam to Christian. What actually attracks them to Christian?

How did they get convinced?

If we know about this, we can stop this from happening. We can stop muslims to convert to Christianity...

I'm from Malaysia, by the way.

Take care and all the best in your dakwah. may Allah grant you a long life and a happy life...

Assalamu 'alaikum...

Salam alaykum,
Thanks for writing. There are a number of reasons in this life for doing what people do. Whether it might be something very brilliant or something very stupid, we all say we have reasons for what we do or what we don't do. Actually, in many cases, these are not really 'reasons' as much as they are 'excuses' for what we get into.
Let us take only one example of millions, inshallah. A man and wife are driving around at night. The man assures his wife he knows wherehe is and where he is going, ever though he has never been there before and does not have a map. After a while of driving around the same area, the wife tells her husband to ask someone for directions. He tells her he knows where he is and does not need someone to help. Another 10 minutes or so goes by and she mentions again that he should pull over and ask someone for help. Again, he claims he is right on course and does not need anyone to guide him. This continues until they find themselves right back where they started, and even then the man wants to find excuses for why he does not need to ask for help. The fact is, he did not want to admit he was wrong.
This is only one of many stories of humans who can hear or see the truth right in front of them and yet, they want to deny the clear proof even though it would be better for them to admit it and fix the problem.
Allah talks directly to that problem in humans in surah Ar-Rahman, when He speaks clearly to all of the humans and jinn about their denial of the clear favors Allah has bestowed upon us all:

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

The answer is - "People just don't want to be guided. They want to do things their own way -EVEN IF IT IS CLEAR THEY ARE WRONG"
